Warning Signs
Signs your fence may need attention
Fences live outdoors year-round, and Florida's sun, heat, humidity, heavy rain and storms take a toll on every material over time. Everyday use matters too: gates get opened thousands of times, lawn equipment bumps posts and pets test weak spots. Catching problems early often keeps them smaller.
It may be time to have your fence looked at if you notice:
- Sections that lean, sag or move when you push on them.
- A gate that drags, will not latch or no longer swings freely.
- Gaps, missing pieces or openings a pet could slip through.
- Visible damage after a storm or a fallen limb.
- Soft, cracked or deteriorating material, especially near the ground.
- A fence line that is no longer straight.
Repair or replace?
Not every damaged fence needs to be replaced, and not every fence is worth repairing. The right answer depends on the fence as a whole, not only the visible damage. Questions that help guide the decision include:
- How widespread is the problem? Damage limited to one area is a different situation than wear along the entire fence line.
- What is the overall condition? If most of the fence is sound, a repair may make sense. If much of it is aging, replacement may be the better long-term value.
- Will a repair match? On an older fence, new material can look noticeably different from what surrounds it.
- Do your needs still fit? If you have been wanting more privacy, a different height or a new layout, a damaged fence can be a natural time to reconsider.
We will give you a straightforward assessment of the options for your fence. If replacement makes more sense, you can compare materials such as wood, vinyl and aluminum.
Next Steps
Requesting an inspection and estimate
Every property and every fence is different, so the first step is a conversation about what you are seeing. When you call or send a request, it helps to share:
- The type of fence you have, if you know it.
- Where the damage is and roughly how much of the fence is affected.
- What happened, if you know, such as a storm, a fallen tree or general age.
- Whether a gate is involved.
- Photos, if you have them handy, which you can share when we follow up.
From there, we will discuss your options and provide a free estimate.
